Wedding parties

A wonderful few days in Paris staying, firstly with Fadela, Archie & Alastair's first ever au pair, and her family. Then off to stay with my cousin Marina and her husband Francois at their incredible house and garden in St Cloud

Then my cousin Sophie's wedding to the gorgeous Nico and a chance to catch up with many cousins and relatives including Uncle Francis and his wife Amoutha and their two brilliant boys, Desmond and Gabrielle, and to meet for the first time Charlotte and Phil's new baby Alexander who was a sweetie pie.

And then, forgetting our passports, my computer and half of AB's smart wardrobe in St Cloud, hotfooting it back to the UK via the Eurotunnel for Uncle William's marriage to Diane and a good old knees up barn dance and Big Band entertainment laid on and nobly performed by the bride and groom.

Births & marriages

Congratulations to Debs & her partner Arun, who are now the proud parents of Baby James. Well, as you can see from the photos, hopefully, it's a little girl, as yet nameless and the subject of some discussion between Debs and Arun (Arun's surname is James). Anyway, she's very cute and I get to play surrogate granny' .

The month of June is already filling up with happy events; my French cousin Sophie O'Kelly is marrying the lovely Nico and Alan and I are off to Paris where we'll be staying with one of my other cousins, Marina and her family in Paris, and also catching up with my boy's first (French) au pair, Fadela, with whom we have kept in touch.

We also have my Uncle Williams (2nd) marriage which should be fun, held in deepest Kent (Groombridge).

Had Dad and Lindsay, and my brother Lyulph & his wife Sue over on Sunday.

Lyulph & Sue qualify for slimmers of the year in my view, having each shed a remarkable SIX STONE and looking great. Unfortunately, not able yet to fully qualify for 'solids' they dutifully munched their way through some grapes and a cereal bar. Dad's recovering from gastric flu and involuntarily shedding the pounds, but seems on the mend now thankfully.
